How to select the rig

Drilling procedure
0–30 m overburden: three-wing drag bit, clear water or light mud direct circulation for fast penetration.
30 m to final depth in hard rock: switch first to PDC bit for pilot hole, then to DTH hammer or tricone bit; keep mud pump at 18–22 L/s to continuously carry 5–8 mm cuttings to surface.
